Napkins made of cloth or paper?

In a posh restaurant paper napkins are unthinkable, in a cozy bistro absolutely! Depending on the horeca concept and the occasion, the right choice falls on paper or cloth napkins. But when the napkins are folded, is there a "winner"? Cloth napkins are usually easier to fold than paper napkins. This is because cloth napkins are somewhat firmer and more stable and do not crease as easily. However, the fabric must not be too thick either, otherwise some folds will not be possible. Fabric napkins with eye-catching edges and decorative stitching or single-sided designs in particular will produce impressive effects depending on how they are folded. Fabric napkins must be ironed before folding. This is the only way to ensure that the folded result is clearly visible and visually flawless. Creases in the fabric destroy the great overall impression of the folded work of art.

You can also use paper napkins for napkin folding. But then you should choose a slightly thicker quality. The more stable the paper, the better it will hold its shape when folded. Especially with folds that are "put" on the table, you are otherwise annoyed with an unstable paper and thus a buckling fold.
